Our mission

The problem we solve

Nurbli exists because we understand all three sides:

The children

Forced to interpret for their parents and make decisions they should not have to make.

The parents

Who speak an indigenous language and want to be involved in their children's education, but cannot communicate with the school.

School staff

Busy professionals trying to serve every family, but without the language tools to reach everyone.

Nurbli is the bridge connecting all sides, providing professional interpretation services so families are heard, schools are supported, and children can simply be students.

Federal law requires it

Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 requires schools to communicate with parents in a language they can understand. The Office for Civil Rights actively investigates districts that fail to provide adequate interpretation and translation services.

Nurbli helps your district meet its obligations, including:

  • Federal language access requirements (Title VI)
  • Parent communication mandates
  • IEP and special education meeting interpretation obligations
